Circassian youth of Turkey and Jordan returned from Israel

 

Young Turkish and Jordanian Circassians aged between 13 and 18 have returned from a summer camp organized by the Kfar Kama Municipality and Community Center (Israel) in cooperation with the Federation of Caucasian Khase (KafFed), the Düzce Adıge Cultural Association and the Istanbul Caucasian Cultural Association, Natpress reports.

According to the website of the Federation of Caucasian Khase, the youth were accompanied during their stay in the camp and sightseeing trips (from July 31 to August 7, 2022) by KafFed board members Feriha Kankoch and Cevdet Soykan.

Various activities were held at the summer camp. It is designed to help preserve the Circassian culture among new generations and strengthen ties between the diaspora. Master classes, training seminars and excursions were organized in the camp. Among the places to visit, the Circassian Heritage Center in Kfar Kama, which reflects Circassian culture and history. In general, the time spent in the camp is important for Circassian youth as an opportunity to get together, make friends and make good connections and memories.

During the trip, the director of the Circassian Heritage Center, Aibek Napso, spoke to the youth about Circassian culture and identity. The event continued with traditional Circassian dances.
