Turkey: Monument of the Circassian Genocide to be opened in Marash

The Marash municipality, with the participation of the Caucasian Cultural Association Kahramanmarash, in the village of Goksun-Fyndyk built a monument of the genocide and expulsion of the Circassians, as well as the Memorial Park of Circassian exiles.

Its opening will take place tomorrow, June 5, 2021 at 11 a.m.

“I hope that it will be massive and will take place in accordance with the rules of the pandemic,” writes this news author Iderey Ismail Özdemir. “Both in this and similar parks, the erection of such monuments is very valuable.”

“We would like to thank those who contributed to the construction of these monuments,” Iderey said and added that the decoration of the monument  looks bad.

In the opinion of the author of the message, the only thing that, may be liked, are the inscriptions: "Genocide of the Circassians on May 21, 1864" and "Exhibition Monument", which are in the lower right corner of the monument.

For the monuments to be built in the future, according to Iderey Ismail Özdemir, competitions should be created to ensure the choice of the monument.
