Today, on the eve of Defender of the Fatherland Day, a solemn meeting dedicated to this great public holiday took place in Maykop.
Defender of the Fatherland Day serves as a symbol of courage, dignity and honor, devotion to the Fatherland and its people. On this day, we remember the exploits of the older generations, who defended the freedom and independence of the country and showed the world an example of firmness, unity and dedication.
Our special words of gratitude are to the veterans of the Great Patriotic War, home front workers. By their example, we teach young people today a sense of patriotism, respect for the history of their country, love for the Motherland. All subsequent generations of warriors are brought up on the deeds of their grandfathers.
Today we honor those who honorably performed their military duty outside the Fatherland; defended the national interests of Russia in local conflicts; who even today stands guard over the Motherland, reliably protecting the peace and tranquility of our citizens.
