Circassian writer Kadir Natkho (USA)

At the age of 94, the Circassian (Adygeyan) writer, historian, public figure Kadir Natkho died. The head of the Republic of Adygea Murat Kumpilov announced this on his Instagram page.

- The name of this person is well known in his homeland - in Adygea, in the republics of the North Caucasus and in the Circassian diaspora. It was the work with the diaspora that became the work of Kadir Natkho's life. He united the Circassian diaspora of the United States, built the Adyghe Khase building, a mosque in New Jersey, which became a place where people of all ages unite. From his personal funds, Kadir Natkho provided assistance to large and low-income families, supported students and various cultural and educational projects, ” Murat Kumpilov wrote.

Kadir Natkho enjoyed great prestige in many countries of residence of the Circassian (Adyghe) diaspora, often visited Turkey, Jordan, Syria, Israel and others.

His play "Medea" was used to stage a performance of the same name by the National Theater of the Republic of Adygea, the premiere of which became a bright event in the culture of life in Adygea.

The books of Kadir Natkho are also of great value.

For his great fruitful activity aimed at studying and historical comprehension of the past of the Adygean people, Kadir Natkho was awarded the highest award of our republic - the medal "Glory of Adygea". “I am sure that the memory of him, his works for many years will remain a high cultural and moral benchmark for us, they will instruct and guide future generations, instill high ideals of serving our people,” Murat Kumpilov said.
