Turkey and Britain signed a free trade agreement

Turkey and the UK signed a free trade agreement on Tuesday. The signing ceremony was broadcast by several TV channels in Turkey.

The agreement was signed by the heads of the trade ministries of both countries.

Speaking at the ceremony, Turkish Minister of Commerce Rukhsar Pekcan said that the agreement applies to all types of industrial and agricultural products, it will enter into force on January 1, 2021.

Representatives of Britain and the European Commission on December 24 agree on future cooperation after Brexit, including in the field of trade.
The agreement still requires the approval of the EU countries and the ratification of the European Parliament, as well as the British Parliament.
