How Abrek Naguchev became the best in the world

Remembering the 2019 World Youth Championship in Almaty.

The Russian national team performed well at this tournament, having won eight medals. The first place was taken by the Circassian sportsmen Abrek Naguchev, who performed in the weight category up to 66 kilograms. For the representative of the famous surname, "gold" became the second medal at the world championships - in 2017, Abrek became the third in weight up to 55 kilograms. Between these tournaments, in 2018, Naguchev won the European Championship and became the second at the Youth Olympics in Buenos Aires.

In the semifinals of the tournament in Almaty, Naguchev won his principal rival, the Brazilian Mateus Pereira, and in the decisive match, the Ukrainian Rostislav Berezhny, who at the preliminary stage knocked out our other athlete, Sayhan Shaibikhanov, from the fight. 

Having won the World Championship, Abrek Naguchev triumphantly completed his performance for the youth team and moved to the next age category.
