On December 11, 2020, on the platform "Zoom" there was a presentation of the book "Textbook of the Adyghe (Circassian) language" (in Russian) by the professor of the Tbilisi State University named after Yves-Javakhishvili, linguist of Caucasian studies, coordinator of the People's University of the "Caucasian House" Ms. Tamara Udjukhu.
The book is intended for Russian-speaking students of higher education institutions, universities of the North Caucasus and those interested in studying the Circassian (Adyghe) language.
The textbook examines the main issues of the structure of the Circassian language - phonetics, morphology and syntax. Accordingly, the textbook presents auxiliary material in the form of texts, exercises, thematic dialogues and various literary texts.
The textbook is accompanied by a short Circassian-Russian dictionary and some samples of Circassian folklore with leading articles.
Editor: Professor Tsira Baramidze. The translation was prepared by Doctor of Philology, Professor Irina Kapanadze. Editor of the Circassian texts: candidate of philological sciences Nuriet Khuazh. The book was prepared for publication by the TSU Institute of Caucasian Studies.
