11/27/2020 in the Tuapse region, the Krasnodar regional public organization "Shapsugia" Center of National Culture of the Black Sea Circassians-Shapsugs celebrates 10 years from the date of its creation. Sergey Mozgovoy, a representative of the Department of Internal Policy of the Krasnodar Territory Administration, and Anatoly Achmizov, Deputy Head of the Municipality, came to congratulate the heroes of the day in the village of Agui-Shapsug, in the cultural and sports complex of which the holiday was held.
The celebration began with the opening of a memorial wall dedicated to the residents of Agui-Shapsug who fought on the fields of the World War two. 210 people were called to the front from the village. The memory of the fallen was honored with a minute of silence.
The audience was also presented with books written by the residents of Agui-Shapsug - a collection about the history of the village of a member of the Council of Elders Salim Mafagel and a collection of poetry by Hasan Allalo. They were published with the help of Shapsugia center.
Sergey Mozgovoy wished the Center of National Cultures prosperity, implementation of new plans and awarded its chairman Madin Shkhalakhov with the medal "For outstanding contribution to the development of the Kuban III degree", and also conveyed letters of thanks from the Governor of Krasnodar Territory to members of the organization.
Anatoly Achmizov congratulated the heroes on behalf of the head of the Tuapse region Vitaly Mazninov. He noted the contribution of the Center to the preservation of national culture, strengthening of friendship and harmony between the peoples living on Tuapse land, and presented Madina Shkhalakhov with a certificate of honor from the head of the municipality.
Shapsugia center was created in 2010. Its founders were the heads of cultural institutions of the Circassian (Adyghe) villages of the region.
The main tasks of the Center, as its chairman said, were and remain the unification of the Black Sea Circassians-Shapsugs, promoting the revival and preservation of their history, culture, traditions, customs, ethnic identity, native language, supporting rural clubs and creative teams, implementing social and cultural projects, work with young people, their patriotic education, familiarization with the origins and spiritual heritage of their ancestors.
So, under the auspices of the organization in Agui-Shapsug, a historical and ethnographic museum of the culture and life of the Circassians was opened, a children's dance ensemble was created, with the participation of Shapsugia center, the Circassian language is taught in schools of the region, textbooks are purchased, teachers are trained. The Center's activities list also includes providing assistance to the creative national team, holding national holidays, festivals, round tables and much more.
