The United States on Tuesday officially notified the United Nations of its withdrawal from the World Health Organization, which Washington accuses of not responding to the coronavirus pandemic. Thus, according to the procedure, the very withdrawal from WHO of its largest donor will occur after the expiration of the one-year period, that is, July 6 of next year.
In May, Donald Trump announced that Washington intends to completely cease relations with the organization, as its leadership refused to carry out the reforms that the US administration insisted on. At the same time, the owner of the White House once again accused WHO of allegedly falling under the complete control of China.
According to Trump, china authorities and the leadership of the World Health Organization did not take appropriate measures in connection with the spread of the new coronavirus. However, in the US, many criticize Trump himself for his belated reaction to the crisis.
