leaders of Armenian and Azerbaijan associations in Adygea met in Maykop

At the Committee of the Republic of Adygea for Nationalities, Relations with Compatriots and the Mass Media, a meeting of activists of public national-cultural associations of Azerbaijanis and Armenians living in the republic was held,- reports the press service of the Committee.

They were given the opportunity to express their positions on the situation regarding the aggravation of confrontation on the border of the two states - Armenia and Azerbaijan.

Head of the department of the public organization "Union of Armenians of Russia" in Adygea O.A. Nigoev noted that, following wisdom, it is necessary to once again note the validity of the expression: "Nations are smarter and more correct than the politicians who represent them."

During the meeting it was noted that today the interethnic situation in Adygea is stable and calm. The daily work of the republican authorities is in this direction. Participants of the meeting expressed their willingness to assure the leadership of the republic that the work of public activists in all attempts to aggravate the situation will be instant and adequate.

The representative of the national-cultural association of Azerbaijanis in Adygea G. Rizayev confirmed the urgent need and effectiveness of the constant work of activists with young people, as the part of society most prone to emotions. The main thing is the understanding that in our work it is necessary to move away from clarifying the question "Who started it first?" The main thing is to adhere to the postulate "What needs to be done?" - to preserve the main values of society: stability and peace.

In Adygea live about 15 thousand Armenians and 3 thousand Azerbaijanis.
