First batch of "Sputnik V" coronavirus vaccine arrives in Adygea

The first batch of the domestic vaccine against coronavirus "Sputnik V" arrived in Adygea, vaccination began with medical workers assisting patients with coronavirus, the Minister of Health of the Republic Rustem Meretukov told TASS on Thursday.

"We have received the first batch of the "Sputnik V" vaccine, so far 42 doses. It is intended for groups at risk. Therefore, vaccination began with medical workers working on the" front line" of the fight against the infection. 

The minister added that he had already been vaccinated against influenza and intends to be vaccinated against coronavirus.

Earlier it was reported that the head of Adygea, Murat Kumpilov, switched to a remote mode of operation due to infection with the coronavirus. According to him, the disease is mild. 

According to the regional operational headquarters, 3,897 people were diagnosed with coronavirus infection in the republic as of Thursday, 500 people are being treated. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 3,356 people have recovered in the republic, 31 people have died.

Note that, experts from Western countries not sure of the effectiveness of the vaccine against coronavirus that Russia produced because it did not have a reasonable trial period for this vaccine.
